There is no replacement for spending quality time with your loved ones.
Just spending a little time with someone shows that you care. Taking the time to connect with those you love will bring you true happiness. The more you do it, the happier you will be.
But the only problem in today's time is that in our hectic schedule where we cannot find time for ourselves then how do we find time to spend with our loved one? This is sad but true! If we truly love someone we can manage to atleast take out little time from our busy schedule to meet and greet them. People love spending time with their loved ones because they feel loved and cared, it gives them pure happiness that they don't find in anything else. On your bad day all you need is a hug from your loved one and everything feels better. That is the power that a hug holds that you get from someone you love. A good conversation or hug is all you need to get you through anything as it acts like the best medicine.
If you cannot find time to meet your family or friends and you are running out of the love, energy and feeling miserable all you can do is if you have 5 minutes you can draft an email to your loved ones stating how much they mean to you. If you have 10-15 minutes you can talk over the phone because sometimes listening to the voice of someone who means the world to you can have that healing power in it. In today's time when smartphones, social networking sites and technology has taken over you can also do a FaceTime or connect over whatsapp or facebook. You can make your loved one feel special and make them feel wanted. Never underestimate the unexpected texts because the person has taken out time to text and thought about you in their busy schedule. Connecting with people is all you need sometimes because distancing yourself and disconnecting will make your loved ones feel unwanted even if that might not be true.
If you have couple of hours you can go for a lunch or a dinner or a movie and spend time together. Believe me you do not have to do big things to make someone feel loved, the little gestures and efforts are enough to make someone feel special in your life. Many times its our actions, not just our words, that really speak what our hearts feel.
I know that many of us are not good at expressing our feelings but we have to break those barriers. The most important thing is spending time with our loved ones.
I will take you through a story of a boy and his grandmother.
Once upon a time there was a boy who was very loving and caring. He was the only child of his parents. Among all the relatives he loved his grandmother the most and the boy was the most favourite grandchild of the grandmother. The love between them was immense and true. The boy felt that nobody could love him as much as his grandmother did. The boy used to wait for his summer vacations every year so that he could go to his grandmothers place and stay with her for months.
The grandmother was so cute that she used to cook favourite dishes of the boy, play with him and did everything that would make the boy happy. She used to shower so much love on the boy that no one ever could do. The boy also did every little possible thing that he could to bring a smile on his grandmothers face.
Years passed by and the boy grew big and the grandmother older. One day the grandmother fell ill and was bed ridden seeing his grandmothers situation the boy was heart broken, the boy spent as much time as possible with his grandmother. But his board exams were approaching so he had to go to classes and focus on studies. It was hard for him to leave his grandmother and focus on studies but he had no choice.
On the other hand the grandmother inspite of being ill was thinking about the grandchild and was worried about him and kept asking about him. Finally the next morning arrived and the boy was all set to meet his grandmother but the news came that the grandmother was out of danger and would be discharged from hospital the other day. The parents then told the boy to go for his biology class instead of visiting the hospital because he had his biology paper the other day. The boy did not listen but then he received a call from his grandmother saying to concentrate on his study as she is fine and will meet him after she is discharged from the hospital the next day and also it was the boys last pre-board exam on that day. So he agreed as it was the matter of only a day and then again he could spend time with his grandmother. So the day when they were to discharge the grandmother arrived but suddenly the condition became worse and the grandmother was shifted to ICU.
So by this story we can easily make out that how important it is for us to spend time with our loved ones and make out time to meet them. It is very necessary to tell them how much you love them and how much they mean to you.
Life is a collection of moments so capture the best ones that you can cherish your entire life. Spending time with those you love can give you that kind of happiness that no other thing in this world could give you.
The best portion of your life will be small, nameless moments you spend smiling with someone who matters to you.
Spend time with those you love. One of these days you will say either, "I wish I had," or "I am glad I did."
